QUALITY & COMPLIANCE PLANNING

Agree what will be checked, how it will be checked, and which market requirements apply to the exact component.

QUALITY STARTS WITH AGREEMENT

Define the component checks that matter to your garment

Appearance, dimensions, attachment, color consistency and performance can matter differently by application. Share the buyer specification and destination so the scope can be reviewed before sample approval and order confirmation.

CONTROL POINTS

A practical inspection conversation

Incoming materials

Identify material grade, color/finish reference and supplier documents relevant to this component. Inspection records and sampling scope should be confirmed per order.

In-process checks

Agree which dimensions, appearance points, assembly or attachment features are critical. Define defect classes and how sampling frequency is selected.

Pre-shipment review

State whether inspection is visual, dimensional, functional or based on a buyer-defined plan. AQL levels and acceptance criteria must be agreed in writing, not assumed.

TESTS & MARKET REQUIREMENTS

Match evidence to material, use and destination

REACH, CPSIA, OEKO-TEX®, GRS/RCS, colorfastness, tensile or abrasion tests may be relevant to particular materials and programs, but are not interchangeable and do not automatically apply to every trim. A standard name alone does not show that a specific component is compliant or certified.

Tell us the applicable requirement

Name the regulation, buyer restricted-substance list, test method, version and target criteria. Identify material, coating, intended contact and target market.

Agree documents before ordering

Ask which declarations, traceability records or third-party reports can be supplied for the product and production lot. Scope, validity and cost must be checked before commitment.

This is a sourcing checklist, not a certificate or legal compliance opinion. Verify current requirements with your compliance team or qualified laboratory.

Nonconformance and corrective-action handoff

If a shipment issue is identified, retain the carton label, order number, affected quantity, photos, sample and test results where available. Report defect type and discovery date. The team can review evidence against the approved reference and agree a next step. Replacement, rework, credit or other remedy depends on confirmed facts and order terms.
